Kosovo risks falling behind on its path to EU membership, due to its unilateral actions, stated today the spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Stano.
In a press conference in Brussels, he called on Kosovo and Serbia to focus on fulfilling the obligations arising from the agreements agreed upon in the dialogue.
Stano said that “we are seeing many things that we have reacted to, especially in the case of Kosovo, with unilateral actions that have created concern for us. This creates fear on our side that Kosovo may be left out and be left behind”.
However, Stano said he sees no danger of the dialogue stalling despite the lack of progress in recent meetings.
He emphasized that Kosovo and Serbia reached an agreement on the normalization of relations and the annex for its implementation at the beginning of 2023, but they are not being implemented.
Otherwise, Kosovo has been constantly criticized by the EU and the USA, due to the decision to ban the dinar and close the parallel Serbian municipalities.
