U.S. President Donald Trump is convening the Peace Board today, which will include representatives from dozens of countries that have joined the Board, including the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, and the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama.
It will be the inaugural meeting, focusing on reconstruction and the creation of an international stabilization force for Gaza, which was devastated by war.
“We have the greatest leaders in the world joining the Peace Board. I think it has the chance to be the most consequential board ever assembled,” Trump told reporters earlier this week.
The board was initiated as part of Trump’s 20-point plan to end the conflict in Gaza. However, Trump aims for it to also help resolve conflicts worldwide.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Office of the President of Kosovo quoted President Osmani as saying that “Kosovo remains committed to working closely with its key ally, the United States, and with the Peace Board, to achieve concrete results, support peace and stability in conflict-affected regions, and promote a future based on cooperation, security, and shared prosperity.”
