Today, around 09:23, the Kosovo Police were informed about a traffic accident on the national road Mitrovica–Leposaviq, specifically in the village of Rudar.
As a result of the accident, five people were injured: three from a civilian vehicle and two police officers, all of whom are receiving medical treatment.
According to the police, initially, units from the Regional Police Directorate of South Mitrovica responded to the scene because the emergency call had been routed to their directorate. Firefighters and emergency medical staff from South Mitrovica also arrived at the location.
“Subsequently, because this area falls under the jurisdiction of the Regional Police Directorate of North Mitrovica, the Regional Road Traffic Unit of North Mitrovica, medical staff, and firefighters from the northern area also arrived at the scene. The accident involved two vehicles: a civilian car with local license plates and an official vehicle of the Kosovo Police,” the police stated.
The case is under investigation by competent units to determine the causes of the accident. The Kosovo Police Inspectorate has also been informed about this incident.
The Kosovo Police appeals to all traffic participants to exercise increased caution while driving and to respect traffic rules.
