The Vetëvendosje Movement decides not to pay the salaries to the strikers, PDK warns that it will press charges

The Vetëvendosje movement, which leads the Government of Kosovo, has expressed its determination to not pay salaries for the month of September to the public sector workers who were on strike. However, this was considered a criminal offense by the opposition, for which the Democratic Party of Kosovo warned that they will file a complaint against the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, if the salaries are not paid by Thursday. In this regard, the Assembly of Kosovo will also hold an interpellation with Minister Murati on Friday, initiated by the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo.

After the meeting of the Presidency of the Assembly on Monday, the head of the parliamentary group of the Vetëvendosje Movement, again underlined the position of the executive, that according to the Law on Strikes, public sector workers are not compensated for the days they did not work.

If the lists are still not submitted by the budget agencies and municipalities, Kusari-Lila said that a solution must be found, as the institutional chain must have a confirmation of their proceeding.
