The GAP Institute has announced that the order of the US President to temporarily halt foreign aid for 90 days, in Kosovo affects around 18 active USAID-funded projects that make a significant contribution to the country’s development.
“Some of them have started before the pandemic and most of them are implemented by American companies and some smaller ones by local organizations,” the announcement says.
Meanwhile, the main beneficiaries include public institutions such as municipalities, ministries, independent agencies, universities, courts, as well as the media, the private sector and civil society organizations.
Regarding USAID’s assistance in the Western Balkans, Richard Grenell, who today officially took office as the United States Special Envoy for Special Missions, has also reacted, once again denouncing the expenses that USAID makes in the Western Balkans, which they have said are alarming.
He wrote in X, that hardworking Americans pay taxes, while politicians in Washington DC spend that money recklessly.
According to him, billions of dollars have been given to left-wing NGOs to promote radical policies in other countries. Here is an excerpt from USAID.
