The protracted process of appointing the new chief state prosecutor

This month marks one year since the position of the chief state prosecutor is led by an acting deputy. The name of Blerim Isufaj, proposed by the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC), continues to remain on the table of the president, Vjosa Osmani, who has not yet made any decision on the appointment of the new chief prosecutor.

Civil society organizations ask Osmani to end this protracted process by decreeing Isufaj, or by returning the whole process to zero.

The director of the Fol Movement, Mejhide Demolli, says that after the decision of the Constitutional Court that decided that the Law on the KPK is unconstitutional, President Osmani no longer has a reason not to decide on the decree or not of the proposed candidate.
