The extension of the mandate of the Government Commission on Recognition and Verification of the Status of Sexual Violence Victims is requested, the government does not respond

The mandate of the Government Commission on Recognition and Verification of the Status of Sexual Violence Victims ends at the end of April. Women and men from Kosovo who were sexually abused during the recent war in Kosovo, have the opportunity to apply to this commission until February next year. The four licensed organizations are asking the Prime Minister to extend the mandate of this commission for at least five years, in order not to create a legal vacuum for the review of cases that require recognition of the status of victim of sexual violence.

Regarding this, since yesterday, KosovaPress has tried to get a response from the government if this mandate will be extended, but they have not responded…
