The extension of the deadline for the application of victims of sexual violence is requested

In February next year, the five-year deadline for the application of women and men for recognition of the status of victims of sexual violence will end. The Government is being asked to amend the law as soon as possible, which offers the possibility of extending this deadline. If such a thing does not happen, it is considered a disaster, since a large number of victims have not yet deposited their stories with this commission. Also, with the non-extension of the deadline for application, it is said that a legal vacuum will be created.

The Chairperson of the Governmental Commission for the Recognition of the Status of Victims of Sexual Violence, Leonora Selmani, requests tha the amendment of the law, which enables women and men to apply even after this date, be proceeded as soon as possible.
