The Kosovo Correctional Service, today with a ceremony marks the 22nd anniversary of its founding, which is expected to be attended by the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu. The Kosovo Correctional Service started operating on November 28, 1999, initially with the opening of the first Detention Center in Prizren and then with the opening of other correctional centers in the largest centers in the country.
The KCS has inherited a state of dysfunctional infrastructure, but with work, dedication and support, the system of execution of sentences and detention has been put into full function, where significant progress has been made both in infrastructure and in raising the quality level of work.
