The Law on Mines and Minerals, dual guarantees and the need for mutual cooperation between the ICMM and the Kosovo Forest Agency (KFA), were among the topics of discussion at the meeting held between representatives of the Chamber of Doing Business in Kosovo (CDBK) and the Board of the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals.
The Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of Doing Business in Kosovo, Skënder Krasniqi, congratulated the establishment of the ICMM board, adding that together they can manage to create facilities for businesses in the sector they lead.
Krasniqi stressed that thanks to the continuous lobbying of the CDBK, the Administrative Instruction No.10/2010 has been amended, but for the mining sector to breathe freely, some other changes must be made, such as the Law on Mines and Minerals, the removal of two guarantees for the same exploitation space, one in the ICMM and the other in KFA, and the tax of 0.20€ for m².
Whereas, Idriz Zejnullahu, from “Guri” L.L.C, business member in the CDBK, stressed that the cooperation between the ICMM and the Chamber of Doing Business in Kosovo is much needed, because so far, the CDBK has been the main voice of a very important sector for the local economy.
Whereas, Selvete Grajqevci – Pllana, chairwoman of the Board of the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals thanked the Chamber for the visit, adding that they are open to cooperate in all matters that are in favor of facilitating the activity of local businesses, as well as influence to attract potential investors.
