The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, before the start of the Summit of the leaders of the Western Balkans and the EU, has stated that this year they are marking the 10th anniversary of the Berlin Process and expects to have a better cooperation that means de facto and de jure mutual recognition of all Western Balkan countries.
Before the summit, which is being held in Kotor, Montenegro, Kurti said that he mentioned Serbia’s horseshoe plan, which was aimed at the ethnic cleansing of Albanians, who find refuge in Montenegro, whereas now this country is gathering the leaders of the region.
The leaders of the countries of the region, representatives of the European Union and the United States of America, will discuss the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans
The summit is being held under the slogan “One region, common vision”. Commissioner Varhelyi and Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, O’Brien, are also participating in the meeting of regional leaders. The Growth Plan includes six billion euros in grants and loans to accelerate socio-economic convergence with the EU – two billion in grants and four billion in soft loans guaranteed by the EU.
