The Kosovo Police has assessed that the 2025 runoff election process went calmly and without serious incidents in all municipalities included in this second round of local elections.
In the official announcement, the Police emphasized that the operational plan for the smooth running of the elections was successfully implemented, with the purpose of providing security, maintaining order and public peace before, during, and after the voting process.
According to assessments, the engagement of police officers, as well as inter-institutional cooperation and coordination, have positively influenced the process to be conducted without major incidents that could have jeopardized the smooth running of the elections.
Within the framework of implementing the police plan, two criminal cases have been initiated in cooperation with the State Prosecutor’s Office:
One case in Fushë Kosovë for the offense of “Giving and receiving bribes related to voting,” where two persons were arrested;
One case in Klinë for “Violation of the secrecy of voting,” with one person arrested.
The arrested persons were taken into custody by decision of the competent prosecutors.
Also, the police have handled 51 different pieces of information related to the election process, but after evaluation by prosecutors, it was found that they did not contain elements of criminal offenses and were recorded only as information.
The Kosovo Police has assessed that the successful implementation of the operational plan is the result of good planning, the engagement of police officers, and close inter-institutional cooperation.
In the end, the Police thanked the citizens for their cooperation and the high democratic culture shown throughout the 2025 runoff election process.
