The Croatian model for national minorities would not be harmful for Kosovo, says the Albanian MP in Croatia, Ermina Lekaj-Përlaskaj. According to her, based on this model, self-management for the Serbs in Kosovo would have a higher level of self-government, but with executive powers or a territorial autonomy, since this mechanism in Croatia refers to the Constitution and laws of Croatia, including documents and symbols. However, Lekaj-Përlaskaj emphasizes that the Croatian model implies a constitutional law for minorities, while with some modifications it would easily find applicability in Kosovo as well.
The Albanian MP in Croatia, Lekaj-Përlaskaj, states for KosovaPress that the position of the Croatian institutions regarding the proposal of Prime Minister Albin Kurti, that the Croatian model for minorities be taken as an example in Kosovo as well, is positive.
