With the aim of promoting Kosovo as an investment destination, the “French Business Day in Kosovo” is being organized in Prishtina by the European Investors Council, KosovaPress reports.
Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that Kosovo is open to serious investments, adding that they are interested in expanding cooperation with France.
“And if there is one word that should define our cooperation today, it is trust. Because trust is not just a value, it is an economic advantage. In an unstable world, influenced by geopolitical tensions, technological transformations, and fragmented regulation, integrity is not just about compliance; integrity is competitiveness. When rules are clear and applied fairly, good companies grow securely, investors plan long-term, and societies gain confidence in the future. Today I want to share three messages with you. First, Kosovo is ready for major infrastructure partnerships. Second, Kosovo is open to serious investments. And third, Kosovo is expanding trade opportunities with Europe, the region, and beyond. Our country, the Republic of Kosovo, is an independent and consolidated state, with a clear European orientation, and yes, we now also have the institutional stability that businesses desire so much. Since it offers public security, predictability, and strong fiscal discipline,” he said.
He further emphasized that French companies are valued worldwide. Kurti added that infrastructure represents trust and shows every investor that the country is building for success.
The French Ambassador to Kosovo, Olivier Guerot, said that Kosovo is transforming and modernizing.
“Seeing this very full room, perhaps we should have pushed the walls, perhaps we should have prepared more chairs; but two conclusions are very clear: first, taking this risk was a good choice, and second, Kosovo is an attractive country for French companies. To these French companies present today, especially those discovering Kosovo, I want to say a few simple things: thank you, thank you for taking the bet on discovery, because there is much to be discovered in this beautiful country. Lots of energy, youth, and entrepreneurial spirit. Those who had the chance yesterday or this morning to walk through Prishtina can see this with their own eyes. The country is transforming, developing, building, modernizing, and investing. It is also a country with which France maintains a very positive relationship, a partner, and even more a friendly country. This relationship is based on human connections with the diaspora — which is certainly visible among us — and cultural ties.”
Furthermore, the Executive Director of the European Investors Council, Emrush Ujkani, said that they aim to promote investments and opportunities.
“This initiative was launched in July of last year, following a broad and comprehensive preparatory process. During this period, we engaged in consultations with relevant French institutions, as well as with the Government of Kosovo and representatives of the private sector, to ensure that this platform reflects shared priorities, real market needs, and long-term strategic interests. Our ambition is to foster meaningful connections, promote investments and opportunities, and encourage innovation in sectors ranging from finance and energy to infrastructure, mobility, and technology. We strongly believe that by bringing together public institutions, international partners, and the private sector, we can turn shared interests into concrete projects,” he said.
The “French Business Day in Kosovo” by the European Investors Council is being marked today through a conference held in Prishtina at the Emerald Hotel.
