The lustration law is seen as a necessity in Kosovo. Experts in the field of justice in the country say that there are still people who today hold positions in institutions, but who during the occupation exercised functions and implemented discriminatory laws against Kosovo Albanians. Such a law is not on the legislative agenda of the executive, but the Ministry of Justice expects that for such a law there will be initiatives from other parliamentary groups as well.
The Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, in a statement for KosovaPress, stated that the Lustration Law is very important for Kosovo to remove suspicions that persons with dubous pasts are part of the institutions of the Republic.
