Kosovo parliament changes agenda of today’s session, includes four international agreements

Members of the Kosovo Assembly have included four international agreements for review in today’s session, KosovaPress reports.

This addition to the agenda was made at the request of the Vetëvendosje Movement.

The head of the LVV parliamentary group, Arbërie Nagavci, said that the four international agreements, including loans for financial sector projects, are necessary to secure financial resources for Kosovo’s economic development.

“These four agreements, respectively draft laws, are necessary to secure favorable financial resources for the country’s economic development as well as to fulfil international obligations,” she said.

The amendment of the agenda was supported by PDK and AAK; however, AAK said this should be the last time the majority brings changes to the agenda at the last moment.

AAK parliamentary group leader Besnik Tahiri said this approach is not acceptable for his party.

“This should be the last time you bring us international agreements, knowing that as a parliamentary group we are committed to voting for international agreements, but we no longer accept any request without prior information from LVV, because nothing dramatic happens over a text message or a meeting with our parliamentary group,” he said.

Meanwhile, the LDK opposed the agenda change regarding these four agreements through MP Besian Mustafa.

“Principally we are in favor of international agreements, but in this case we are requesting additional time so that all MPs have time to analyze them and reach a common position within LDK, therefore in this case we do not support it,” he said.
