The international future of Arijon Ibrahimovic continues to be one of the most discussed topics in Kosovo football. Shortly after the president of the Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK), Agim Ademi, revealed on the SportCast programme that the FFK is in contact with the player and his family, the Bayern Munich talent has also responded.
In an interview with Bayern’s official website, Ibrahimovic was asked about his future at international level, leaving all possibilities open while making it clear that his current focus is solely on the Bavarian club.
“First and foremost, I want to establish myself here, give everything I have and fight for playing time. We will see what happens in the future. I am completely focused on Bayern,” Ibrahimovic said.
The statement comes shortly after Agim Ademi’s interview on SportCast, where the FFK president confirmed that the federation is working to convince talented players of Kosovo origin to join the “Dardanians”, but stressed that the final decision belongs to the players themselves.
“Not only with Ibrahimovic, but also with Osmani, who has signed a contract. I congratulate all three of them, Ibrahimovic and Yll Gashi, who are at Bayern, on the good contracts they have signed. And I thank Bayern for recognizing their talent. It seems to me as if we now have two groups of three, one group at Hoffenheim and another at Bayern. That would be a great pleasure. Of course, we have presented our opportunities to them and shown that we are interested. It is up to them to decide, and I hope they make the right decision with their hearts,” Ademi said.
Ibrahimovic, who is considered one of the most promising talents of Kosovo origin, is currently focused on developing his career at Bayern Munich, while the question of which national team he will represent remains unresolved.
His statement suggests that the decision will not be made at this stage of his career, as his priority remains earning playing time and establishing himself at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
