Gjakova wants a medal in the Judo World Cup, says that without Toni he would not be a champion

Akil Gjakova considers becoming champion of Europe in the European competition that took place in December of last year in Prishtina as the best competition in his career.

He says that competing in front of the Kosovar public has given him special emotions and additional motivation to give his best.

In an interview for KosovaPress, Akil says that the first half of 2023 did not go well at all, but then he improved and as a result managed to secure three medals.

“Kosova is here”, were the words of Akil when he was declared the champion of Europe in Prishtina, this message through which he says he showed his goal that he had from the beginning to hear the anthem of Kosovo in front of everyone at the end of that competition.

But Akili will not stop there as he reveals his intentions for 2024.

Behind these successes, Akil says there is only one name and that is coach Driton Kuka.

In the European Judo Championship, judoka Dardan Cena was also successful, winning the bronze medal. Akil says that he sees Dardan as his little brother and that he is convinced that he will have success in the future.

Otherwise, this was the first time that such a large judo competition was organized in Kosovo, such as the European Championship, while it is expected that the Judo Federation will apply for other organizations of this level. /A. Bytyçi
