Germin: Sending envelopes costs voters from the diaspora more than the CEC

Voting from the diaspora has so far not received due attention from the country’s institutions. The position, but also the largest opposition party is demanding electoral reform to avoid shortcomings during the voting. An outside vote has cost more than the CEC itself to send the envelopes. In this year’s elections, the Central Election Commission spent 6.1 euros, while voters from the diaspora spent 1.3 million euros to send the envelopes, most of which were from Germany and Switzerland. This was said today at a roundtable organized by the organization Germin on the topic “Voting from abroad.”
