According to the Veterinary Law, the import of poultry and their by-products from Germany is allowed, with the exception of administrative areas affected by avian influenza, such as Lower Saxony, Bavaria, Brandenburg, Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Thuringia, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and Schleswig-Holstein, where the presence of the disease has been confirmed.
The Food and Veterinary Agency has amended the decision banning the import of poultry and their by-products from Germany, repealing the prohibition set by the decision dated October 30, 2025.
This decision was made with reference to the latest report from the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), the European Commission report dated October 28, 2025, and the report from the German Competent Authority dated November 12, 2025, reports KosovaPress.
This ban enters into force immediately and will remain active until the next assessment by the relevant national and international authorities.
The FVA will continue to closely monitor the epidemiological situation and cooperate with local and international institutions to prevent the spread of the disease. The public and economic operators will be informed in a timely manner of any possible changes.
