The Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA) in Kosovo has announced that it has increased control measures and has undertaken the necessary actions in which each shipment coming from the state of Brazil will be verified all this after the notification issued by the state of Brazil for the temporary suspension of certification for exports of poultry meat and its products.
However, the spokesperson of the Food and Veterinary Agency, Lamir Thaçi, says that there is no danger for consumers to worry about, and also the family economies of poultry farms, according to him, are considered protected by the state.
Thaçi, in an interview for KosovaPress, also asks citizens to pay more attention to the declaration of the product in the summer season and adhere to the conditions that are written in it.
While, speaking about the outbreak of Newcastle disease, it says that the inspection team is aware of all the procedures on how to verify each of the aforementioned cargoes.
He says that while the country of origin itself has stopped issuing certificates, it means that no shipment will come from the area where the disease has broken out, while adding that consumers and family economies of poultry farms are not at risk, since the necessary measures have been taken.
Meanwhile, it requires all consumers to adhere to the conditions that are noted in the product declaration.
In the end, Thaçi says that the small number of inspectors remains a challenge.
On Sunday, the FVA ordered the introduction of control measures for all meat shipments coming from Brazil, due to the outbreak of Newcastle disease./E.Krasniqi/
