“From the most pro-American people in the world”: Osmani congratulates the U.S. on Independence Day

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has congratulated the United States of America on its Independence Day.

“From the most pro-American people in the world: Happy 4th of July, Independence Day of the United States of America,” Osmani wrote on Facebook.

Osmani shared a video from her participation in the celebration of U.S. Independence Day, organized by the U.S. Embassy in Pristina.

“On this U.S. Independence Day, we are not only celebrating your history, but we are also honoring how it has shaped ours,” Osmani stated during her speech.

She emphasized that the American people have stood by Kosovo every step of the way.

“Twenty-six years ago, your leadership helped us win our freedom—a freedom that had been denied for centuries—and every year since. Through peacebuilding, institutional development, economic progress, and the strategic strengthening of defense and diplomacy. Every chapter of the Republic of Kosovo carries the U.S seal,” Osmani said.

July 4 marks the 249th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.

The Declaration of Independence is a document in which the 13 British colonies in North America declared independence from the United Kingdom.

The Declaration was ratified on July 4, 1776.

The U.S. Constitution, signed in 1787, later defined the foundation and structure of the U.S. government, which is divided into three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial – the President, Congress, and the Supreme Court.
