February 9th Elections, Polling Stations to Have Surveillance Cameras

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has today appointed around 15,000 commissioners for the February 9th parliamentary elections. Over 12,000 of them will be at regular polling stations, around 300 at conditional voting centers, and 2,343 will be engaged in municipal counting centers.

CEC member Arianit Elshani informed commissioners and other members who will participate in the election process that there will be surveillance cameras in every classroom and that any action that may jeopardize or violate the electoral process will be prosecuted.

“The Electoral Operations Council has also reviewed the table with the nominations of the Polling Station Councils in Kosovo and the municipal counting centers. Also, of the conditional polling stations. The total number is 14 thousand 991 people nominated by the political entities…12 thousand 422 members of the polling station councils, in this case commissioners will be at regular polling stations. We will have 226 commissioners at the conditional voting centers, and 2 thousand 343 people will be engaged in the municipal counting center. This is the total number of citizens who will be engaged in the electoral process. There will be a surveillance camera in each classroom. Any movement, any action that may jeopardize or violate the electoral process in each polling station will be prosecuted by the CEC and will be proceeded further”, said Elshani.
