Liridona Murseli, who was killed three days ago in Prishtina, was buried yesterday and only a few hours later the Kosova Police arrested her husband, Naim Murseli, who is suspected of having organized the murder of the deceased, the person with the initials G.P. who according to the prosecution is the killer, as well as the other suspect with the initials K.K., who is a member of the KSF.
According to the Police, on 29.11.2023, around 20:20, they received information about gunshots on “Dalip Alshiqi” street in Prishtina.
“Police and emergency doctors immediately went to the scene, where they found a person in a car without signs of life. The death of the victim (female) was confirmed by the medical team at the scene. Based on the first information, it is suspected to be a murder by firearm. The police, in coordination with the prosecutor’s office, have started an investigation and the undertaking of all investigative and examination actions, which would help the investigation of the event and the complete clarification of the case. After the examination of the scene, intensive investigative actions were taken which resulted in the arrest of two suspects related to the case mentioned above. The unit of general investigations of Prishtina in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office is continuing the raid operation in two locations in Gjakova”, reads the announcement.
However, the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prishtina announced that in coordination with the Kosova Police, following intensive investigative actions, regarding the case, which was initially assessed as “robbery with consequences of murder”, where a woman was killed, has resulted in the arrest of two suspects involved in this case.
“According to the order of the State Prosecutor and with the approval of the judge of the preliminary procedure, the General Investigations Unit of Prishtina, within the Kosova Police, conducted raids in two locations in Gjakova, in which case the persons were arrested from this action G. P. (killer) and N.M. (victim’s husband), suspected for the victim’s murder, and the weapon suspected to have been used in this case was seized. Currently, the suspects are being interviewed at the police station, until the prosecution will take further legal actions against them. The prosecutor’s office, in coordination with the police, is continuing with the undertaking of investigative actions related to this case”, reads the communiqué.
After that, the third suspect was also arrested, Kushtrim Kokalla who is also a member of the KSF.
The Ministry of Defense has emphasized through a communique that the justice bodies are investigating the case, but this case will also be handled within the responsible bodies of the KSF, according to the regulations and laws in force.
“The Ministry of Defense and the Kosovo Security Force expresses sincere condolences to the victim’s family. The security and protection of our citizens is an obligation”, reads the communiqué.
After the arrest of Naim Murseli, Liridona’s husband, his father announced that the condolence visits have been cancelled.
“Dear friends, for family reasons, we regretfully cancel the condolences visits. We thank everyone for participating in the funeral”, wrote Shaban Murseli on his Facebook account.
And while it was reported that Naim Murseli, before the investigators, admitted that he ordered the murder of his wife to the suspect G.P., to whom he had given 15 thousand euros before the murder and another 15 thousand he would give him after the execution. The suspect G.P. has admitted to the prosecutor that it is Murseli who paid him to commit the murder, the victim’s family members were reported to have requested the exhumation of Liridona Murseli from the village of Naim Murseli and the burial in her birth village.
Otherwise, according to the procedures, the suspects are expected to appear before the Court today or tomorrow.
