The “Kosova Bojkoton” initiative has called for a nationwide boycott of all supermarkets in Kosovo on March 15, in protest against rising prices.
Activists of the initiative unveiled a banner today with the message: “March 15, Kosova Bojkoton, all supermarkets.”
Xhevat Kastrati, a member of the initiative, urged citizens to join the movement, emphasizing that the boycott is a way to demonstrate their purchasing power and send a strong message to both supermarkets and the government regarding dissatisfaction with price hikes.
“We are the ‘Kosova Bojkoton’ group, an informal citizens’ group that has taken the initiative to protest against price increases through a boycott. Our call to citizens is to join us and raise their voices through this boycott, showing our purchasing power. When we all unite in this action, we send a message to supermarkets and the government that we are deeply dissatisfied and create social pressure for a response,” Kastrati stated.
It is worth noting that similar boycott initiatives are being carried out in other countries in the region due to rising prices.
