The Central Election Commission has clarified the situation regarding the discrepancy between the number of voters and the number of votes won by political parties.
CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi said that there was a discrepancy in the votes of political parties.
In a statement to KosovaPress, Elezi explained why the there are 33 thousand votes more.
He said that on the CEC website, the number of voters is loaded for about 800 thousand voters, while in the preliminary results, if the results of all political parties are added, the number of votes is about 831 thousand.
So far, 99.57 percent have been counted, the Vetevendosje Movement leads with 40.87 percent, followed by the Democratic Party of Kosovo with 22.03 percent, the Democratic League of Kosovo with 17.61 percent and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo – Nisma with 7.46 percent.
The process of counting the votes of candidates for MPs began yesterday.
The preliminary results do not include conditional votes, those of people with special needs and votes from the diaspora. They will be counted at a later stage after the count is completed at the municipal count centers.
