The ballot papers have already been placed in the Vote Counting and Results Centre, having been printed in Slovenia and brought to Kosovo over the past few days.
The spokesperson of the Central Election Commission of Kosovo, Valmir Elezi, said that for the 7 June elections, over 1,778,300 ballot papers have been printed.
As in previous elections, the CEC has printed fewer ballot papers than the number of registered voters.
“According to the CEC decision, for the 7 June elections, 1,778,300 ballot papers have been printed. Of this number, 1,605,000 ballot papers are planned for voting at regular polling stations; 19,450 for conditional voting; 13,500 reserve ballot papers; and 3,500 for voting by persons with special needs. As in previous elections, the CEC has printed fewer ballot papers than the total number of voters, and this is based on analyses of citizens’ turnout in elections. These ballot papers are currently in the Vote Counting and Results Centre, and as part of logistical preparations, they will be distributed on Saturday morning to the Municipal Election Commissions, and from there on Sunday morning to the Polling Centres,” he said.
According to Elezi, out of the total number of ballot papers, 108,000 have been printed for postal voting outside Kosovo, while 28,850 ballot papers are intended for voting in diplomatic missions.
The election material for voting in diplomatic missions has already been dispatched, a process that will take place on Saturday, 6 June.
The 7 June elections will be held in the Republic of Kosovo. The voting process will take place in 949 Polling Centres with a total of 2,550 polling stations. In 911 Polling Centres with 2,498 polling stations, regular voting will be enabled, while in 38 other centres, one per municipality, with 52 polling stations, conditional voting will be enabled. The number of citizens eligible to vote at polling stations in Kosovo is 1,959,962 voters.
