The chairman of the Security Affairs Committee, MP Bekë Berisha, has called the National Security Strategy for the period 2022-2027 a weak document.
In the continuation of the session, the MP from AAK called this strategy “Frankstein document”. However, Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca has reacted to MP Berisha’s stance, KosovaPress reports.
“The last document presented by the prime minister for the strategy is a “Frankstein document”, consisting of previous documents that were weak, but here it seems to have been strengthened a little with a speech by the prime minister. We were told that we have reviewed it, but this document came to us as a ready-made document. This National Security Strategy document is not a secret document. Citizens and MPs have the right to comment on this strategy, but above all also the Security Committee. This document has been kept secret by the Security Commission and by me,” said Berisha.
MP Berisha said that the Government of Kosovo submitted the Security Strategy to the committee only after it was reviewed by the prime minister, bypassing the Security Affairs Committee.
