On September 26, 1998, in Abri e Epërme, Serbian forces committed one of the most horrific massacres during the war in Kosovo. On this day, 23 members of the Deliu family were massacred, among them women, children and the elderly, from the age of six months to 94 years old.
On September 25, the Deliu family had taken refuge in the mountains to escape Serb attacks. A day later, on September 26, at around 10:00 am, the Serbian infantry entered there. Gunshots and people shouting were heard.
