On September 26, 1991, a referendum was held to declare Kosovo an independent state.
On this day, by an absolute majority, they declared in favor of Kosovo’s independence, and were confirmed the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, which were approved a year ago and were followed by the holding of the first democratic elections, parliamentary and presidential elections of 1992.
