On the first day of his official visit to the United States, Prime Minister Albin Kurti was received by the CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Alice Albright.
According to the press release, this meeting marks the beginning of negotiations with MCC for the Compact project, which will be the largest energy project in Kosovo since the liberation, which exceeds the amount of 200 million dollars and foresees the construction of energy storage systems.
“Albright reconfirmed the unstinting support of the United States for the Republic of Kosovo through the MCC for the economic development of the country and the improvement of the lives of its citizens”, it is said in the government communiqué.
The joint meeting with the Prime Minister was also attended by the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Washington, Ilir Dugolli, the National Coordinator for the Development of the Compact Program with MCC, Lum Mita, while the MCC representatives that participated in the meeting were Jonathan Brooks, Vice President for Programs in Europe, Asia, the Pacific, and Latin America; Thomas Kelly, Vice President for Policy and Evaluation; and Paula Garcia Tufro, Chief of Staff at Albright.
