The Albanians of Montenegro have faced numerous problems in the past years, but as it seems now, the situation has changed there, as they have managed to be an integral part of the Montenegrin state.
According to the general director at the Ministry for Human Rights and Minorities, Arben Xhureta, Albanians have made great strides compared to previous years and are doing quite well in terms of institutions.
As for education there and the possibility of employment, Xhureta said that Kosovo continues to be a ‘springboard’ for young Albanians. He emphasized that Kosovo shaped him as a lawyer.
Albanians in Montenegro make up 5% of the population and the areas with the most inhabitants of Albanian descent are from Ulcinj, Plava and Gusi, Tivar, Podgorica and Rozhaja. /F.Pelaj/
