Work on the expansion of the Kijeva-Dollc road begins, but the residents protest

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has inaugurated the beginning of works for the expansion of the national road N9-Segment Kijeva-Dollc, a road which will connect the capital with the western part of Kosovo. However, the residents of this area also came out to protest, as their businesses are being closed.

Kurti together with the Minister of Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, visited the beginning of the works, where they said that this road has a length of 10.9 km with a cost of less than 21 million euros.

Kurti emphasized that after this project, there will be the continuation of the Dollc-Ramune road, for which he announced that the opening of the tendering process will take place in May.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, has added that they are paying attention to the fact that the expropriations are carried out on time and that there are no problems in the expropriation, but also that there are no surprises in the underground infrastructures that then prevent the realization of the project.

Likewise, the Deputy Minister of Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Hysen Durmishi, said that the longest deadline is 260 days for the largest lot, but due to the commitment of companies and external supervision, it can be completed before this deadline.

Meanwhile, the citizens of Kijeva were also seen there, protesting the start of these works because over 60 businesses may be closed.

Protester Isuf Mehmetaj said that both sides of this road are expropriated, and now these businesses should be closed.

About this issue, Kurti has said that they do not want to harm anyone, but they cannot leave this road without widening it, but he will discuss it with the Minister of Economy and Finance.

Meanwhile, the deputy minister of spatial planning and infrastructure, Hysen Durmishi, has said that he has met with the owners of these businesses, but this project was drawn up much earlier. He points out that there are many reasons why this road has deviated, but one of the main ones is that the expansion of the road in the settlements, it damages the settlements.
