The rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Viola Von Cramon, stated that Kosovo must make progress in the dialogue process, before the European Union elections which will be held on June 9. She also mentioned the basic agreement between Kosovo and Serbia of February, and the implementation annex, for which she said that the EU made a mistake by not asking the parties to sign it.
At the press conference, the member of the European Parliament declared that the punitive measures against Kosovo should be removed.
Calling herself a good friend of Kosovo, she called for greater progress in dialogue before the European Union elections.
Asked about the role of the European Union in relation to Kosovo and Serbia, she said that a big mistake was made last year, where they did not insist on signing the annex to the agreement.
Furthermore, she denied that there was a softening of the terms for the act of aggression in Banjska of Zveçan.
Likewise, the rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament also spoke about the elections in the municipalities of northern Kosovo, for which she said that the same should be held.
Further, she emphasized that the pressure on judges and prosecutors from the country’s institutions is unacceptable.
During her several-day visit to Kosovo, Von Cramon also spoke about media freedom and non-transparency from institutions.
Also, she mentioned the murder of Liridona Ademaj last year, where she said she hopes that the prosecution will quickly close this case and get justice for the victim.
