The Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood, Oliver Varhelyi, during his speech at the EU-Western Balkans Summit in Tirana, said that the Growth Plan is ambitious.
At the Summit of the Western Balkans and the European Union, Varlehyi points out that the enlargement process is not only about the chapters.
According to him, the process is about the integration of the economies and societies of the region in the EU.
According to Varhelyi, in order to move forward, the region must do one thing and achieve results in reforms that would make the plan functional.
He also called on the partners to allocate another 6 billion euros to the region, in addition to the 30 billion euros allocated, in order to reach the level of structural funds of the European Union for the member states.
Varhelyi emphasized that financial institutions such as EBRD and IMF (International Monetary Fund) should speed up their work, which according to him would help the economic growth of the region.
