Tirana has been selected as the winner of the European City of Sport 2023 title, an award they received on Tuesday in Brussels.
The president of the Albanian Olympic Committee (AOC), Fidel Ylli, the mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj and the deputy minister of Sport Endrit Hoxha were part of the commission for the selection of the European city of sports.
AOC, through an announcement, said that this is a very important award for sports, national and international activities that, according to the committee, will be numerous next year.
This award best shows the appreciation towards Albanian sports as well as the achievements of the federations and Olympic athletes so far, writes AOC.
