On December 14, 2018, the Kosovo Parliament with 106 votes in favor and one abstention approved three laws that changed the mandate of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) in the Kosovo Army, but without changing its name.
The laws that were adopted were the Draft Law on the Ministry of Defense, the Draft Law on the Kosovo Security Force and the Draft Law on service in the Kosovo Security Force. Amendments to the laws were voted on one by one. Serb MPs in the Kosovo parliament did not attend the session. They have opposed the formation of the Kosovo Army.
