During the past year, 15 political entities have realized revenues worth over four million euros, while they have spent over three million euros. The Office for Registration, Certification and Financial Control of Political Entities has fined 14 political entities due to violations. This was said at today’s meeting of the Central Election Commission during the review of the final report “Audit of annual financial reports of political entities – Financial statements of 2023”.
With eight votes in favor, the members of the CEC have approved the election regulation for the election campaign, monitoring and financial declaration.
The Director of the Office for Registration, Certification and Financial Control of Political Entities, Besnik Buzhala said that 54 political entities have been audited.
Buzhala stated that 11 political entities have received donations during the past year.
Whereas, it has shown that the Office for Registration, Certification and Financial Control of Political Entities fined 14 political entities last year.
The members of the Central Election Commission have had remarks about the law, which enables the audit of political entities.
Sami Hamiti from the Democratic League of Kosovo has requested that this law be amended.
