The removal of the trucks that were placed as barricades on the roads in the north of Kosovo has begun.
The Government of Kosovo had announced that from August 1, the implementation of reciprocity with Serbia for license plates and IDs would begin.
However, one day before this decision came into effect, the local Serbs in the north of the country started their opposition by placing barricades on the roads that lead to two border crossing points with Serbia – Jarinje and Bernjak.
After the appeal of the US ambassador in Kosovo, the prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, on Sunday postponed for a month the decision on reciprocity for identity cards, but added that this will happen after the withdrawal of the barricades.
