The Assembly of Kosovo has approved in first reading the Draft Law on Census of Population, and Households. Support for this draft law was given by the MPs from the position and the opposition. Justifying the Draft Law, the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati announced that the population census will be conducted during 2022. The financial cost of this draft law was said to be 10 million euros.
“The census scheduled to take place last year has been postponed due to the developments with the COVID-19 pandemic and the municipal elections that took place in October last year. The new deadline for the census is set to be in 2022,” he said.
