Around 20 thousand cases were reported to the Pristina Police last year. In 2024, over 800 operational plans were implemented, where over 2700 people were arrested. This was stated at the presentation of the annual report of the Pristina Regional Police, where, among other things, it was emphasized that public safety in the capital is calm. However, it was announced that there is an increase in the number of drug-related crimes.
The Director of the Capital City Police, Basri Shabani, said that they have set the priorities for controlling the territory and increasing public safety.
Shabani: Public order and security in Pristina assessed as calm
“Based on the analyses of the security situation of the regional police directorate in Pristina, I state before you that public order and security in the territory of the Pristina region is assessed as calm by all parameters. At the same time, we pledge to continue to be responsible, professional and dedicated at all times, in order to fulfill the noble mission of the Kosovo Police”, said Shabani.
He announced that the reduction in the number of criminal offenses against life and body, as well as criminal offenses against property is the result of modern and preventive policing.
