With poetry, songs and dances today, the Municipality of Obilic celebrated Kosovo’s Independence Day. The House of Culture “Xhavit Haziri” was filled to capacity with citizens who had the opportunity to enjoy the program that was prepared for them.
Ibush Mjekiqi, Deputy Mayor of Obilic, was present. He said that on this day we should remember the sacrifices of those who paved the way for today’s Kosovo.
“This is a day that reminds us of the difficult path we have gone through to get here. On this day we remember all those who gave their lives for this country. Today we have the duty to build on their sacrifice by building a strong Kosovo,” he said.
The celebratory program continued with music and poetry. This concert was made possible by the Directorate of Culture in cooperation with the “17 February ” High School.
Today, the mayor of Obilic, Xhafer Gashi, together with the municipal staff, paid homage at the memorial plaque of the nation’s martyrs in Obilic, as a sign of respect and gratitude for the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Kosovo.
