In the inaugural meeting of the new Municipal Assembly of the Municipality of Gjilan, the mayor Alban Hyseni was sworn in. Hyseni has sworn that he will perform his duties and will exercise his powers as mayor with honor, loyalty and impartially.
Hyseni in the second round of elections held on November 14, defeated his opponent from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lutfi Haziri. In the second round of elections, Hyseni won the trust of 21 thousand 800 citizens of Gjilan or 51.10% of the vote. His opponent, Haziri, received 20,865 votes or 48.90%.
