Visa liberalization was the main topic in the discussion on Kosovo’s European agenda, on Tuesday at the Commission for European Integration, which included ambassadors accredited to Kosovo and Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi.
The lifting of the visa regime for Kosovar citizens in 2022 was said to be necessary for the European perspective of the country. The German and Czech ambassadors in Kosovo also offered their support regarding the matter.
The Ambassador of Germany, Jorn Rohde, said that a quick solution is needed for the liberalization of visas for Kosovo.
He emphasized the need for European reforms in Kosovo, while underlining Germany’s priority for the integration of the Western Balkans into the EU.
Support for visa liberalization was also given by the Czech ambassador Pavel Bilek, who said that it is a priority of the Czech Presidency of the European Council.
He also gave details about the last meeting of the working group regarding the liberalization of visas, for which he said that the latter has supported such a thing, but some topics issues will be clarified in the next month.
