Integrating mental health into the curriculum is extremely important for a better education and school. This was said at the conference “Mental health care in Kosovo school”, held in Prishtina.
The adviser to the Minister of Education, Donika Kastrati, said that supporting mental health is not a task for schools alone, but requires a collaborative effort that engages families, communities, and policy makers.
Meanwhile, the president of SBAShK, Rrahman Jasharaj added that this conference proves that together they can help in the best changes for a better-quality school and education.
That it is important that teachers are given the opportunity through professional development to give the best of themselves to work for children, said the executive director of SC, Shawna Bader-Blau.
The two-day conference “Mental health care in Kosovo school”, the two-day conference is organized by the United Union of Education, Science and Technology (SBAShK) and the American Solidarity Center based in Tirana.
The objectives of this conference are to identify effective strategies for the integrated implementation of mental health approaches in schools, to examine research-based practices about mental health in schools, and to try to develop concrete action plans to encourage meaningful partnerships. /A.
