The energy strategy is one of the most important forms for the country’s development. If our country works more in this direction, the Republic of Kosovo has the opportunity to get closer to membership in the European Union.
This was emphasized at the table with the topic “Energy Strategy, and the path to Kosovo’s energy future”, organized by the Pristina Institute for Political Studies (PIPS), in which the country’s need for the development of an energy strategy was highlighted.
On this occasion, the paper “Review of the Energy Strategy of the Republic of Kosovo 2022-2031” was also presented. Leonora Kryeziu from the Pristina Institute for Political Studies (PIPS) has said that the state is adopting energy strategies to progress in the energy sector.
Meanwhile, the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Carin Lobbezo, said that the drafting of this strategy will be challenging, but necessary for Kosovo.
The economist and scientific researcher, Anita Baraliu, while presenting an analysis of policies from this institute, said that the moment we are able to create an energy sector in RES is a testimony to the support of real democratic values and also a necessity for European integration.
While, he added that coal was not at the center of this strategy, but that renewable sources were prioritized.
