The Kosovo Hotel and Tourist Chamber has presented their concerns about the Government’s decisions for these sectors. The chairman of this chamber, Hysen Sogojeva, in a press conference said that the demands of this sector are the removal of restrictions and the approval of the law on economic recovery, since, as he says, 85 percent of this business is collapsing and that close to 17,000 people have lost their jobs.
Sogojeva said that financial losses, only from weddings, are estimated to be around 600 million, while he also spoke about the decisions taken by the Government during the pandemic.
Sogojeva: There was no need for total closure
“Around 85 percent of this business is collapsing, around 20-25 thousand people work in this sector, this means that around 16-17 thousand workers can lose their job… The losses are great.”, he says.
He called all the decisions of the Government wrong, as according to him the Government did not take into account the requests of the Hotel and Tourist Chamber of Kosovo, while he says that they have taken all measures for protection from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sogojeva calls non-voting of law on recovery by MPs shameful decision
While the singer Afrim Muqiqi said that by not voting the law for economic recovery, double standards are being used.
Muçiqi said that politicians who are not voting for the law on economic recovery do not want the best for this country.
Muçiqi: MPs should not play with the dignity of the people
Sogojeva has asked the Government and the MPs to vote on the law for recovery as soon as possible, otherwise they will organize protests.
