The heating with fossil fuels is worsening the air pollution in our country

Kosovars are at risk from air pollution in terms of respiratory health. Pollution comes from power plants, as well as the burning of coal and fuels. The most polluted cities in our country remain Prishtina, Fushe-Kosova and Obiliq.

It is being emphasized that there will be more air pollution during the winter, as the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, has recently canceled the decision that prohibited the provision of coal to KEK workers, on the grounds that they would contribute to overcoming the energy crisis. Until 2018, the Kosovo Energy Corporation gave coal as a gift to its workers.

In 2018, the Ministry of Economic Development made a decision to ban the giving of coal as a gift to KEK workers, but recently, this decision was revoked.
