The government cabinet is absent in the Assembly, the opposition: There is a lack of accountability from the executive

The opposition parties have accused the government of lack of accountability to the Assembly of Kosovo. In today’s legislative session, where parliamentary questions are on the agenda, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and most of the ministers were absent. PDK, LDK and AAK asked for the postponement of this session, after emphasizing that holding it without the government cabinet is a masquerade. Thus, in a demonstrative manner, the MPs of AAK left the hall. However, the chairman of the session, Saranda Bogujevci, said that a large number of MPs who had to submit parliamentary questions are also missing from the session.

At the beginning of the session, fifteen MPs and the Minister of Agriculture, Faton Peci, were present in the plenary hall, while he was also joined by the Minister of Culture, Hajrulla Çeku.

MP of PDK, Rashit Qalaj, said that it is unacceptable from the government cabinet and Prime Minister Kurti that they are not in the Assembly of Kosovo, to answer the MP’s questions.

Criticism was also addressed by the LDK MP, Avdullah Hoti, who said that in this form, transparency in the supervision of the government’s work by the opposition is impossible.

Meanwhile, the head of the AAK Parliamentary Group, Besnik Tahiri, said that the absence of the government cabinet in today’s session is an act of ignorance towards the Assembly.

However, the chairman of the session, Saranda Bogujevci, said that MPs are also missing from the session to ask questions.
