The French Ambassador to Kosovo, Olivier Guerot, hosted international and Kosovo authorities in the “Germia amphitheater”, in honor of the celebration of the National Day of France.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was also part of this event, along with well-known personalities from our institutions, reports KosovaPress.
Prime Minister Kurti said that the summer of 1798 was historic, not only for the people of France, but also for all peoples who love freedom and democracy, and that 235 years later, this country is celebrating another historic summer – inspired by the same values, which is important for France also because of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will take place in Paris.
Although she was not present due to her agenda, the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, expressed her congratulations through a video to the French people, saying that Kosovo and France should continue their friendship together, with the same interests for freedom, justice, and democracy.
The president of the Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOC), Ismet Krasniqi, also spoke, who said that today is a symbol of democracy, freedom, and equality, these values that France has spread throughout the world.
Meanwhile, the president of the Kosovo Paralympic Committee, Njomza Emini, said that today we celebrate the day of our permanent friend and that the partnership with the French state is precious.
In the end, this celebration was made more attractive with demonstrations by judo and karate athletes.
The celebration of the Independence Day of France this year coincides with the holding in Paris of the 33rd edition of the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, with the third participation of Kosovo. /A. Arifi/
